We now have clear next steps for the children and a reason as to why they are struggling with their understanding. Staff also have a better understanding and rather than keeping doing more of the same we have used the Toolkit to deliver focused intervention work.

The training and ongoing discussions have raised the profile of early communication and language development within our setting. It has reinforced the importance of developing these foundational skills, not only for immediate literacy and language outcomes but also for children’s longer-term progress. This aligns closely with current research and national guidance.

CPD has been delivered to all in EY and TAs across school to help us identify key children and spot key next steps, which may have otherwise been missed.

I completed the two-day training a few years ago and have then used the training to upskill my team through the year so that all members of staff have a good understanding and provide a better quality of interactions.We also listen to the LP videos in our phase meetings as CPD too.

L.P has given staff more confidence. Guidance has been supported with staff knowledge and the identification of gaps in learning. It has made us rethink our whole nursery curriculum to ensure we embed LP throughout our activities.

We have used LP to train staff in the classroom to identify children’s gaps. This process has helped staff to ensure provision & enhancements are specifically tailored to close skill gaps for our most vulnerable children.

Launchpad has empowered us as educators – giving us the tools and understanding to make a real difference for our children. It has shifted our whole-school approach and given us the confidence to intervene effectively and with purpose.

I have provided some CPD to staff to show the impact of using LP. I use it a lot with being based in early years as it helps me to plan for many of our learners.

LP is now embedded into our ongoing CPD. New staff are trained in its principles, and existing staff regularly revisit the framework through refresher sessions, reflection and shared practice. It continually reminds us of the importance of not overlooking the essential building blocks of literacy, even as curriculum pressures mount.

LP has had a significant and ongoing impact on our team’s CP Development. We hold termly CPD sessions focused specifically on LP, and these have been essential in developing subject knowledge across the entire staff team—including both teachers & support staff. These sessions allow us to explore the Toolkit in greater depth and to build shared understanding & consistency in our approach.

Our team now has a good understanding of all the pre-literacy skills that can become barriers to children being able to access phonics.

We’ve used LP to support apprentices and teachers to plan more detailed interventions using LP’s incremental skill steps approach.

Through LP, we feel confident that we are equipping staff with the tools and understanding to give all children the best possible opportunity to catch up and succeed. It has strengthened our whole-team ethos and reaffirmed our shared commitment to building strong foundations for future learning.

All staff members have upskilled their knowledge and understanding through using the Launchpad Toolkit.

This year we have had a lot of new staff and ECTs. We found L.P most useful to support staff in ensuring their planning & teaching starting points meet the needs of individual children. The small incremental skill steps are particularly useful for our Red Pathway in school.

Launchpad is a tool in our SEND pack of resources, as such we have used it as a bespoke CPD offer for some staff.
